Working with the centre in Ahotokurom, looking at ways to help mentor new staff, considering how to form a stronger support group in Ireland (e.g. networking with previous volunteers, working with academic staff at University of Limerick to find ways of sharing learning and approaches to disability). Music therapy is progressing in conjunction with an Arts and Health programme at the University off Cape Coast.

The object of Irish Friends of Ahotokurom is to support the work of the Padre Pio Rehabilitation Centre, nr Elmina, Central Region, Ghana, West Africa. The beneficiaries will be the community at Ahotokurom including the special needs centre, the family outreach centre and the care centre for end of life persons, as well as the overall administration element of the different services provided. Some support will be financial e.g. assisting education funding, materials and some in assisting in projects, advising and offering general support e.g. on sustainability projects such as alternative energy and clean water supply, food growing etc. Projects are determined by the management team and the Board of Advisors in Ahotokurom.
